Tidal is FK Irons' Limited Edition Artist Colour of the Year, and it suits the Xion - a machine built around how it feels in the hand rather than what it looks like on a shelf. Light, balanced and closer to holding a paintbrush than a power tool, it's the one artists reach for when the session runs long.

The Xion adjusts to you rather than the other way round. Needle depth is set through the ratcheting click grip, the give dial gives you up to 2 mm of cushion, and the two included cam wheels swap between 3.2 and 3.7 mm strokes - so one machine covers fine lining through to solid packing. Behind it all sits a 6 W MotorBolt with the torque to hold its own, and a seamless grip that tapers from 32 mm to 25 mm for easy barrier wrapping.
