Based in the bustling heart of trendy Fulham in West London, Ushuaia Tattoo London is a haven for tattoo lovers of all types and styles!

Created by husband and wife duo Aneta and Damian Gorski, this studio takes the creativity and vibes of Ibiza nightlife and brings it to suburban London.

We spoke to Aneta, co-owner and manager of Ushuaia for the details behind the studio’s unusual name, all about the team and their many awards, plus the one thing that’s more important in apprentice artists than a can-do attitude!

Can you tell us your name and role at Ushuaia?

Hello! My name is Aneta, and I am the co-owner and manager of the studio. I’m also kind of a mum/sister/best friend for my artists!

When was Ushuaia first opened, and by who?

Me and my husband Gorsky opened the studio in 2016.

How was the name chosen, and how does it reflect the vibes you want to project?

People who know us know very well that we absolutely love Ibiza, and in the past we partied quite a lot at Ushuaia clubs during our holidays there. The fact is that we simply love the vibe of that island, so we decided to use it as the name for the studio.

So here it is - Ushuaia Tattoo London. I know it’s not easy to pronounce but it should definitely ring a bell for true ravers!

Which artists work there currently and what styles do they specialise in?

We have Gorsky and Kohstyle who specialise in colour and black and grey realism/surrealism and abstract.

Rysaa who specialises in sketch, freehand and abstract work.

Olivia, Rhi, Valentina, Nadine & Lenka who specialise in micro realism, fine line and black and grey.

Giacomo who specialises in black and grey realism and blackwork.

Our team is very versatile and so some of them can do much more than their named specialty!

What is the tattoo scene like in your local area, and how do you stay competitive?

There are quite a few tattoo shops in our area but each to their own - we don’t feel that there is any competition between ourselves. Our studio is not particularly focused on trying to be on top of the local area. We try to reach much further.

The key to our success is doing our job in the best possible way, always pushing ourselves to do more and better, inspiring each other every day, giving ourselves challenges and stepping out of our comfort zones. We value growth and offering the best possible service, and everything else comes with it. It is hard work but we love it!

Do your artists exclusively use World Famous inks?

Mostly yes.

The studio has been supported by World Famous Inks from day one, and we have a whole palette of colours from them. Our artists love them!

How often do you place an order with Killer Ink, and what are some of your most ordered products?

I would say every 2-3 weeks.

Definitely disposable grips, stencil paper, needles and all of our hygiene products.

What tattoo furniture do your artists use?

We use Tatsoul chairs, we have some Meta workstations and we are planning to order Impala workstations soon.

Are there any tattoo trends your artists would gladly never do again?

Our artists love a challenge: even if there is a theme you’ve seen a million times before, there is always a way to make it a bit different  with the artist's own twist! The only limitation is a lack of imagination!

What are some of the more unusual or unique tattoo requests your artists have ever received?

This is one of the more common questions we’re asked, but any tattoo can be unique if the creation is given to the right artist. Unusual? Well that's a biased question - what’s unusual for me can be absolutely normal for you, right?

What aftercare advice and instructions do you hand out to customers?

We explain to each customer how to take care of their new tattoo very thoroughly, as the healing process is very important. We are also available to contact and ready to respond to any questions in any case after our customers leave the studio. We don’t forget them when they are gone, as we care that the healing process goes as smoothly as possible.

In terms of product types, most of the time we use second skin or Tattoo Armour.

Which of your artists has racked up the most awards so far?

Gorsky has more than 50 awards from previous years, and every year he gets some more! He is definitely on top of the list, but our Kohstyle and Rysaatattoo are starting to catch up!

What advice do you and your artists have for apprentices?

Practice, practice and practice! Spend your time drawing, creating designs, and tattooing on fake skin. Listen to your mentor and - most of all - don’t be scared to ask questions!

What do you look for in a new tattoo artist to join, guest spot or apprentice at your studio?

Be nice, have a happy attitude, and respect your customers and colleagues at the studio.

But the main thing is to be crazy and funny - a good vibe is as equally important for us as a need for growth!

Will we see any of the team at any conventions in 2025?

 Absolutely!

You will see some of us in Milan, Venice, Brussels, Miami, New York and probably some other more local ones!

Huge thanks to Aneta for answering all of our questions about this beautiful studio! You can follow Ushuaia on Instagram or Facebook, or get in touch with their artists directly to book!
