Practice Skins & Synthetic Body Parts
Practice skin is a real game changer and is a great addition to any tattoo artist’s kit! Designed to mimic the texture and feel of real skin, its main purpose is to help apprentices and flourishing artists alike to learn tattooing techniques under real conditions.
Practice skin can be an invaluable tool for tattoo artists who are embarking on their career. Using practice skin is a great way for apprentices to learn how to utilise their machine safely and develop their skills, before they take the leap and tattoo their first clients.
Now fledgling artists don’t have to practise tattooing on orange peel, or even pig skin, when starting out in the industry. Practice skin really takes things up a notch!
For more experienced artists, using practice skin is a great way for them to hone their existing skills, try out new styles and proudly showcase their work in three dimensions.
Practice skin comes in all different shapes and sizes. From square reusable sheets to a range of silicone body parts, at Killer Ink we stock a large variety of products suitable for any artists looking to strengthen their craft. Here’s our guide to the pick of the bunch!

Reelskin
Reelskin is loved by tattoo artists who are looking for practice skin with a quality lifelike feel. Here at Killer Ink, we are proud to stock a range of Reelskin products, including Synthetic Practice Sheets, a Synthetic Practice Arm and the Synthetic Tattooable Skull.
Reelskin products are specifically designed to provide a realistic tattooing experience. One of our favourite products from the brand is the Reelskin Synthetic Practice Sheet, which is handmade and features a double-sided texture, with a stretchy feel to adapt just like human skin.
The Reelskin Practice Sheet has a shiny side, perfect for producing clean linework and applying stencils. While the other side is matt and features a fine texture, designed to replicate microscopic pores in the skin.
Reelskin has also been designed so that you can apply stencil fluid to it without it staying wet. Plus, unlike most other practice skins, Reelskin can be wiped clean without leaving any smudges or ink stains, so you always end up with a nice, clean tattoo.

A Pound of Flesh
We also proudly supply synthetic tattooable skin, shaped like realistic limbs, from A Pound of Flesh. The brand was created by tattoo artists Shaun Miller and Abraham Cobaxin, who wanted to offer new artists an innovative way to practise tattooing and grow in confidence.
Shaun and Abraham started out as many artists do by tattooing themselves and eventually willing family members, but they saw a gap in the market for their revolutionary products. They solved a problem; how to practise tattooing without subjecting friends and family to still-budding talent and risk making irreversible mistakes.
Gone are the days when budding artists would have very few options at their disposal when it came to learning how to tattoo. Now they can get their hands on this amazing alternative!
A Pound of Flesh products are also perfect for more experienced artists who want to truly showcase their skills and craft. It’s a fantastic way for them to provide a realistic portfolio of work to their clients, letting them see their work first-hand, so to speak, rather than just lifeless on paper.

Killer Ink Body Parts
Last but not least, we also offer our own range of tattooable Body Parts. They might look real, but don’t worry, they are completely synthetic!
The Killer Ink Body Parts line-up includes practice skin designed to look like hands, arms, feet, legs, and even a head for practicing cosmetic tattooing.
If you’re unsure on which practice skins and synthetic body parts are best for you and your tattooing style, don’t hesitate to contact us today and we’ll help steer you in the right direction!
