Coil tattoo machines from Bristol Tattoo Club are seen as iconic by tattoo artists, but where did they come from?
The Bristol Tattoo Club was the brainchild of Les Skuse, Champion Tattoo Artists of All Great Britain. Les had the idea way back in 1951, but it wasn’t until 1953 that the Bristol Tattoo Club was formally started.
Les Skuse ran the Bristol Tattoo Club until his death in 1973, leading to his son Danny (Les Skuse Jr) taking over the reins. Danny passed leadership of the Bristol Tattoo Club over to the latest president Jimmie Skuse, who started to transform the club back to its glory days.
Fast forward to the present day and Bristol Tattoo Club still manufactures quality old school coil tattoo machines.
