Killer Ink Tattoo

Sponsored Artist of the Month – Isra Almagro

Isra Almagro is an incredible traditional tattooist who is known for his bold lines and bright colours.

Traditional is a well-loved style of tattooing and has been for as long as the concept of inking the skin has been around. So, what makes Isra’s work different to the rest?

Isra has built up a huge client and fan base over the years thanks to his striking traditional tattoos that combine solid colour work with clean, bold lines.

Although primarily based in Barcelona, Spain, Isra can be found at guest spots and conventions all over Europe. His guest spots have included regular stints with our friends at Ultimate Skin in Leeds, UK, as well as at studios in Cyprus, Greece, Spain, and Switzerland, to name a few.

To create his bold, eye-catching work, Isra uses a variety of supplies from Killer Ink Tattoo, including tattoo care from Hustle Butter Deluxe.

Milano Tattoo Convention 2019 Video

We opened up our convention calendar last month for another edition of the incredible Milano Tattoo Convention!

It's one of the most prestigious tattoo conventions in Europe, so we're bringing you all of the action with our latest video!

Make sure you don't miss this one - it features some of the best artists in the world working on some mind-blowing tattoos!

Speaking of killer tattoos, our sponsored artist Sandra Daukshta picked up two awards for a stunning sleeve she started and completed at the 2019 Milano Tattoo Convention. The first half of the piece, a peony, won ‘3rd Best of Friday’, while the addition of two portraits earned the full work ‘Best of Saturday’.

Artists Kindamo and Mr Nobody from Alex De Pase Stores Gemini Ink picked up ‘Best Realistic’ for their black and grey collaboration, while the pairing of Rich Harris and Jamie Lee Knott from Dark Horse Collective won ‘2nd Best Colour’ for a jaw-dropping leg piece.

Rounding off the awards was our good friend Benjamin Laukis, who took home ‘3rd Best of Show’ for his stylish two-headed girl, as well as ‘3rd Best Realistic’ for a sick sleeve that featured a trio of Inkjecta Flite Nano machines.

Stigma-Rotary® Tattoo Machines

Stigma-Rotary® has been revolutionising the tattoo industry ever since its first adjustable rotary machine in 2005. Now it has released its latest, eagerly-anticipated offering, the Thorn.

The Stigma-Rotary® Thorn is a pen-style rotary with the size and shape of a grip. With just 9.3 cm in length and weighing only 115 grams, it literally feels like you’re holding just a grip!

Most of its weight is shifted towards the front of the machine, making it perfectly balanced and comfortable to work with.

The Stigma® Thorn is an all-round master with its fixed 3.5 mm stroke and offers a solid hit. We also offer versions of the rotary with 3 and 4 mm stroke lengths.

Stigma-Rotary®’s latest Thorn machine is powered by a high-quality, Swiss-made motor and features a protected RCA connection, so durability and reliability are a given.

The Stigma® Thorn can be used with cartridges from all major brands thanks to the interchangeable cartridge receivers.

Make sure to also check out Stigma®'s other popular pen-style rotaries, the Stylist and Spear, as well as the versatile Hyper V4!

The Stigma-Rotary® Stylist and Spear are both excellent pen-like machines. The main difference between them is that the Spear offers adjustable give, whereas the Stylist has no give. The Stigma® Spear is completely adjustable on the fly.

The Stigma-Rotary® Hyper V4 is a smooth running and versatile hybrid tattoo machine that pushes standard needles and cartridges, while offering adjustable stroke length and give.

Stigma® also offers a range of high-quality grips, along with its Advanced Needle Cartridges, so check out its full range of products and pick something up for yourself!

Cheyenne Sol Luna & Sol Terra

In our latest video review, we give our first impressions of two new machines from Cheyenne, the Sol Luna and Sol Terra.

The Sol Luna and Sol Terra will be joining Cheyenne’s Sol range, following on from the acclaimed Sol Nova rotary.

Both the Cheyenne Sol Luna and Sol Terra are high-performance machines that are quieter and vibrate less than conventional machines.

Each of these powerful rotaries is fitted with a brushless DC motor that packs a punch and offers better ink saturation. In addition, the smooth and soft running of the machines allow for a faster healing process.

Both machines have two operating modes, known as HardDrive and SENSIDRIVE. These modes allow you to choose between working at a controlled or regulated speed by altering the motor control.

With the HardDrive function, your machine will run at a controlled speed, with no give and a consistent hard hit.

Turning the SensiSwitch will enable the new SENSIDRIVE function, meaning that the speed of the machine will be adjusted depending on the surface that you’re tattooing. This is due to the motor reacting more sensitively to the resistance of the skin.

The main difference between the two machines is the stroke length. The Sol Luna has a 2.5 mm stroke length, whereas the Sol Terra offers a 4 mm stroke length.

Make sure to watch our video below for more information on the similarities and differences between the Cheyenne Sol Terra and Sol Luna.

Sponsored Artist of the Month – David Barrera

Spanish tattoo artist David Barrera Garcia produces some of the best colour realism that you'll see on the skin! He even once held a Guinness World Record for 'longest tattoo session'!

David’s interest in art started at the age of seven, when he could be found painting walls and trying to learn new techniques from his elders.

Fast forward to 2012 and David opened up his first studio in Spain, marking the beginning of a remarkable rise that has seen him win multiple awards at conventions and even hold a Guinness World Record!

Back in November 2016, David broke the record for ‘longest tattoo session’ when he tattooed his client for a marathon 56 hours at X-Skullz Tattoo studio in Wettingen, Switzerland.

Nowadays, you can find David working at his Art-Tris Tattoo studio in San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid, as well as at some of the top conventions across Europe.

He hasn’t forgotten the fun of painting walls as a child though, as David still produces incredible spray-painted murals and graffiti – check out his Instagram page to see his latest street art!

Tattoo Timelapses – Barcelona Tattoo Expo 2018

At the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo, we took some time out from shooting our main video to film timelapses of Debora Cherrys, Benjamin Laukis, Adrian Hidalgo, Pablo Hernandez, Niorkz, and Julen Muñoz (Mrkpa Tattoo) working on some awesome tattoos in various styles.

Debora Cherrys

Spanish neo-traditional queen Debora Cherrys did what she does best at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo and created another eye-catching neo-trad piece that wowed the crowds.

Benjamin Laukis

As well as winning an award for a separate piece at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Convention, Australian tattooist Benjamin Laukis created this realistic sphynx cat on the hand of his client, who was over the moon with it!

Adrian Hidalgo

Incredibly realistic black and grey tattoos are second-nature to Spanish artist Adrian Hidalgo, and the eagle he tattooed at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo shows off his top talent.

Pablo Hernandez

Black and grey specialist Pablo Hernandez was on-hand at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo to show the public his crazy good work, and the Spanish tattoo artist did not disappoint with his piece at the convention!

Niorkz

UK tattooist Niorkz is known for his killer script work, so it comes as no surprise that he delivered some sick lettering tattoos at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo.

Julen Muñoz (Mrkpa Tattoo)

From the same studio as Pablo Hernandez comes Julen Muñoz, aka Mrkpa Tattoo, who tattooed a dope war-themed leg piece at the 2018 Barcelona Tattoo Expo.
