Now first things first, This kind of tattoo wouldn’t be a tattoo in the traditional sense, indeed there is no connection between being inked and a rise in blood glucose levels. No this tattoo would dye a patient’s skin a yellowy-orange colour and would last for about a week. The tattoo would then get lighter or darker if glucose levels changed and could be detected through a special handheld camera. The hope is that mobile phone companies would then develop an app for smart phones which would be able to read this information and tell the patient his glucose level. Scientists say that too few patients are checking their glucose levels, and that the tattoo would be more appealing than pricking your finger on a regular basis. However an actual tattoo diagnosis is certainly still a few years away.

We are pleased to announce that from now on, all our stainless steel tattoo grips, tattoo tips and backstems are made from the very best 316 stainless steel. We have recently upgraded from 304 stainless steel, as 316 stainless steel is a much tougher material and will last far longer when putting through your autoclave. Please be aware of cheaper equipment from other tattoo supplies sites, which will either rust or break down and be unusable after literally a couple of uses. In the current economic environment, you won’t want to be throwing your money down the drain!

Heres one for those of you who like maths! Joe writes, “My tattoo is 3 lines of equations, the top is the Born Oppenheimer Approximation, the second line is the equation in the form of a 3-Dimensional Schroedinger Equation, and the solution in the form of a Schroedinger Equation. As a biochemist and molecular biophysicist I studied a lot of this stuff and I must say, Schroedinger was my favorite and well, I had to do it. The ink was done at Red Sky Studios in Tucson, AZ by artist Lisa.”
